Picking Up The Pieces of the Crash
I had high expectations of this book. People online described it as easy to read and very applicable for today’s stock market. The author made it easier to draw parallels to today. The lead bankers were powerful men, similar to today’s tech CEO’s and there are still the same fiscal games played today as then.
This type of story really intrigued me because of the parallels to today and the opportunity to dive into what really happened as part of the stock market crash of 1929. I thought the author made it easy to follow along the key actors of the time and included some well known figures to spark the reader’s interest. Additionally, I appreciated the fact the author went well past the stock market crash and into the following years of investigation, plus the bank crashes of the 1930’s.
