This blog is something unique. It’s a start. If you are reading this post within a month, or even a year, I expect this page and site will look a lot different. For now, it is a simple page with a simple feel.
When I thought about how to focus or narrow this blog, I bounced around several ideas and niches. Technology. Exercise. Health. Reading. Science. Countless ideas. Each idea having the potential to stand on it’s own. Ultimately, none of them fit what fits me the most. This blog is purely me.
This blog will start off by focusing on the opportunities for growth and the drive to get better. This blog is my fresh attempt at doing something I can highlight how I strive to get better each day. I can’t promise you that I will have all the answers to your questions, nor can I promise the best advice for your situation. I’m learning right along with you. My hope is you will be inspired though to take steps in your own life to grow. Growth is something I feel has greatly changed to redefine itself in the era of AI and social media. We observe people who are successful and masterful at what they do. Influencers showing just how easy something is. The skills they have are impressive, but it’s not where most get to start.
I am hear to tell you that the skills to get you ahead in life will take a lot of time, effort, and work.
The good news is there is hope. A little effort goes a long way in terms of success. Setting daily or weekly goes is necessary and achieving that day is critical. Each step of success will help drive you to the long term vision of yourself. These minor goals are not just steps towards the end goal though. They are transformational. In order for you to reach the desired outcome, you need to change part of yourself. It doesn’t mean you have to abandon old values, but new room has to be made for this new part of you. It’s up to you on how to change yourself. If you want to lose weight, you might need to go out to eat less. If you want to get better at a sport, you may need to play less video games. The point is your values and energies change to achieve the outcome you want.
Since most people are unwilling to get started, they never work long enough to see what they can become. Small, incremental progress is often huge because it works to overcome the initial hurdle of starting. One building block builds on itself until you have a whole skyscraper.
For me, this blog is the first step in building out who I am as a leader and what I want people to understand how I approach getting better. One of my key mantras in work and life is “I am not going to be the best on day one, but I will be one of the best with enough time.” This approach has forced me to learn, to challenge myself and my effort, and to build on what I have learned in the past. If I want to grow a team of people, I need to change myself into someone they are inspired by.
I want to conclude by saying this blog will often go in a number of directions. I am figuring out how to grow this new endeavour. I hope over time there is enough feedback that it can become something to make a dent in the world to even just a dozen people. If you are on the home page in January 2026, there are still many signs this website is still in progress. Like a sculpture, the end product won’t be the same as a year from now. I look forward to the future of where this will go.
